He has appeared in many other blockbusters such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and The Tourist. As of 2013, his films have grossed over his $3 billion at the US box office and worldwide he has grossed over $7.5 billion.
John “Christopher” Depp II was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky. In 1970, his family settled in Miramar, Florida after moving to over ten of his locations. At the age of 12, Depp was given a guitar by his mother.
He started playing guitar regularly in a nearby garage. He dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue his music career.
However, he played in various bands in Los Angeles and achieved only modest success.
