World’s Rarest and Most Mysterious Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Hits the Track — Business d’Or

Born out of FIA regulations requiring a minimum of 25 road vehicles to be approved, the CLK GTR arrived in road-legal form in 1998.

And it hit the streets with a much larger V12, with displacement increased from 6.0 to 6.9. liter. With 604 horsepower and 572 lb⋅ft (775 N⋅m) of torque, it was one of the most powerful stock cars available at the time.

However, some CLK GTRs had a larger 7.3-liter V12 engine under the hood. Already available on the Pagani Zonda and SL 73 AMG, the factory sent 711 horses and 580 lb-ft (786 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels. Only 5 of these Super Sport models have H.W.A, the company that made the CLK GTR Roadster.

A total of 28 units were built, including two prototypes, 20 coupes and 6 roadsters. Needless to say, the convertible is the rarest model in terms of bodywork, but there is one mysterious supercar that is not only unique but also rarely comes out of warehouses. I’m talking about

Chassis #19, CLK GTR. Because it is the only one painted in dark blue metallic. It is also one of five cars to receive the Super Sport package with a larger 7.3-liter V12 engine.

The CLK GTR itself is rare, but this blue wonder is considered the most mysterious version. Because they rarely come out of warehouses. Last we saw was in September 2021, and the supercar had been hiding for 15 years.
